Speen Moors Walk

Come and enjoy the Northcroft Family Picnic Walk on Saturday 9th August at 2:30pm (meeting in Northcroft leisure centre car park). West Berkshire Council have agreed to organise the event to promote the newly accessible 2-mile circuit from Northcroft Park to Speen Moor and back which will end with a picnic.

The walk will be an ideal opportunity for families to visit beautiful countryside on their doorstep! The 60 - 90 minute walk will end with a family picnic. Families are invited to bring their own picnic. Drinks will be supplied.

Councillor Tony Vickers said, "Building the new Monkey Bridge has resulted in Northcroft Park being extended onto "Monkey Marsh" where the new path crosses between the canal and river Kennet. This autumn the Council plans to design a suitable landscaping scheme for this area. The walk is a chance for park users to discuss what they'd like to see planted here and perhaps think about a way of commemorating the old bridge in some way."

For further details regarding the walk Cllr Tony Vickers can be contacted on 07950 202640.
