Local Lib Dems are calling for people in West Berkshire to get green and leave the car at home this Thursday on 'Walk to Work Day' (24th April). Shadow Transport spokesman Councillor Keith Woodhams is asking people to think about how they get to work and how they could be greener when they are commuting. Keith will be walking from his home in Thatcham to his Council meetings in Newbury on Walk to Work Day.

"Walk to Work Day has been targeted at Londoners but that's no reason for West Berkshire not to join in!" commented Councillor Woodhams. "If sitting in town centre traffic day after day is getting you down, why not think again about walking to work on Thursday? Not only can we save ourselves money on petrol but we could get fitter in the process and unclog the streets of Newbury and West Berkshire. Let's get out of the car and walk to work in West Berkshire on Thursday."
