Lib Dems are looking forward to working together to advance Newbury's cinema plans

Liberal Democrats have welcomed the outcome of last night's special full council meeting to discuss the planned cinema for Newbury as a positive step in the right directions.

Lib Dem Leader Jeff Brooks said:

"Having called this urgent meeting of the council to hear from the Administration what has been happening with the project, I am pleased that they have agreed to include the Liberal Democrats in their future meetings with the developer and operator. We very much look forward to working together to advance this project as quickly as possible for the benefit of the people of West Berkshire."

Councillor David Rendel added:

"We wish the administration well with their meeting today with Alanis and look forward to hearing what happened. In future meetings I am sure that both political groups will be looking to advance this project constructively and we are pleased that at long last these meetings seem to be taking place."
