Lib Dems are searching for library and Post Office solutions

Councillor Roger Hunneman has this week announced that West Berkshire Lib Dems are actively searching for solutions to help support West Berkshire's Post Office network.

Councillor Hunneman commented:

"Lib Dems in West Berkshire have a long history of campaigning to save our local Post Offices. Now it is time to think outside the box and look at ways of supporting Post Office services outside of the typical Post Office branch environment. For example, I am at the moment enquiring of Council Officers about the feasibility of having a Post Office in the new Wash Common library. I would be extremely interested in hearing comments about this or receiving suggestions from residents about other possible mechanisms for providing a local post office service. We are all aware of the valuable services Post Offices provide to the elderly, and the need to keep these services local and accessible."

Anyone interested in the scheme, or wanting to make alternative suggestions, can contact Councillor Hunneman by email at rhunneman@westberks.gov.uk, or by telephoning him on 01635 49131.
