Thatcham Area Forum will discuss anti social behaviour taking place on the way home from the nightclub

Thatcham residents to the west and south are being invited to discuss the anti social behaviour issues that have been associated with revellers leaving Venom nightclub. The debate will take place at a meeting of the Thatcham Area Forum at Thatcham Football Club, Waterside Park, 7.00pm.

Councillor Brooks, who called for the issues to be discussed in the presence of Police, Community Safety Officers from the Council and Venom nightclub representatives, commented:

"I would like to urge all residents affected by the noise and anti-social behaviour in the Lower Way area to attend the Area Forum on 12th September. Residents have an important contribution to make to this debate, which will be held right at the beginning of the meeting. For years now local residents, including myself, have had our sleep disturbed and property damaged. I understand that the controls and management at the club itself are very good - it is when the revellers head home that problems start."

Councillor Woodhams added:

"Thatcham residents can make a difference by communicating their concerns to all the concerned parties at this stage. Both Councillor Brooks and myself will be attending and are keen to hear what you have to say."

Note to Editor:

The meeting of Thatcham Area Forum will be held on 12th September at 7pm at Thatcham Football Club. The discussion will be held at the start of the meeting, and all are welcome to attend.
