'500 Days of Tory misrule' - Brooks

Councillor Jeff Brooks

Councillor Jeff Brooks is taking a look at the last 500 days

Approaching the 500 day anniversary of Tory rule at West Berkshire Council, Opposition Leader Jeff Brooks has taken a look at the track record of the administration in a dossier entitled 'Delay, Drift and Incompetence'.

Councillor Brooks explained:

"Delay, Drift and Incompetence takes a look at the past 16 months of Tory rule in West Berkshire. As Leader of the Opposition it is my responsibility to scrutinise their policies and ask questions about how they are running your council. 500 days marks a significant point in any administration and it is certainly an anniversary on which we should ask 'what exactly have the Conservatives achieved in the last 500 days?"

The dossier charts the months of glaring omissions and lamentable drift since May 2005, when the Conservatives came to power.

Councillor Brooks continued:

"Delay, Drift and Incompetence will give you an idea of what we in West Berkshire will have to contend with for the next four years, should the Tories get into power again come May 2007. I would urge all West Berks residents to read this as a matter of priority."

CALLING NOTICE:

'Delay, Drift & Incompetence' will be launched by West Berkshire Liberal Democrats on the steps of Newbury Town Hall at 9.30am on Saturday 9th September. There will be a photo opportunity with Liberal Democrat Councillors and copies of the dossier will be available.
