Westbourne Clean-up

An overgrown garden in Westbourne Terrace has been cleaned up - thanks to Cllr Tony Vickers.

Tony says, "residents of Westbourne Terrace, off Pelican Lane, raised a petition, which I delivered to the Council. The petition persuaded the absent owner of the house, which has been derelict for 14 years, to clean up the jungle and rubbish in its front garden."

The owner of the property did come and complete the clean-up personally. Neighbours were very pleased with the outcome.

Tony wants to find an occupant for the property adding, "It's a scandal that so little can be done to turn over 750 long-term empty properties in homes that are much needed."
