Councillor Jeff Brooks has extended congratulations on behalf of the West Berkshire Liberal Democrat Group to victorious Lib Dem candidate, Ricky Duveen, who stormed to victory in last week's Tilehurst by-election. The by-election was a Lib Dem held ward, and Ricky will now take up his seat on Reading Borough Council.
Councillor Brooks commented:
"This is a tremendous result, both for Ricky in Reading and all those who put in long hours supporting his campaign. On a much smaller turn out of voters, Ricky managed to increase the Liberal Democrat majority by 333. Not only this, but it is the last good indication of next May's election result - a ward just the other side of the West Berkshire/Reading border is recognising Lib Dem commitment, dedication and action. Well done, Ricky!"
