Local Liberal Democrats have welcomed the news that the work has started to begin the clean up work on the central reservation of the A34.
Councillor Roger Hunneman commented:
"I am pleased to see this work in progress at long last. Lib Dems have been calling for cleaner roads in West Berkshire for some time, and this latest development follows my question to the Council's Executive back in July asking if the money set aside for the clean up operation would be sufficient. It is gratifying to see the litter on this major road being removed and I would urge people to help keep it cleaner for longer by taking their rubbish home."
Note to Editor:
The clean up operation will take place overnight from approximately 10pm to 6am for six or seven week day nights.
In total, 23km of central reservation will be cleaned.
